Might as well jump right into what my week has been all about... the currently airing slice-of-life anime, Slow Start (スロウスタート)
"Cute girls doing cute things" is my staple genre, my bread and butter, my favorite (♡´▽`♡) Upon discovering that Naganawa Maria -- the VA for Kanna Kamui -- would be voicing a similar-looking cute girl in Slow Start, I immediately had high expectations.
And I have not been let down!
Every episode leaves me smiling and each one has touched me with an important life lesson. I really wish I could exist in this fantasy world of Slow Start because everyone is so kind, and sweet, and heartwarming.
Even on my worst depression days this week, Slow Start has brought a smile to my face (⁄ ⁄•̥⁄ᴗ⁄•̥⁄ ⁄)
Episode four in particular has really motivated me to be less of a shut-in. I like myself the way I am, hikikomori tendencies and all! But I do like the idea of getting fresh air more often. One of my favorite things to do in Japan is to walk around the neighborhood at night, just for the sake of leaving the house -- something not exactly possible in other countries.
I.. think this has backfired a little bit... (･-･`*;;) Thinking of the dangers of leaving home makes me want to stay inside even more!
I really hope Slow Start gets a following and doesn't fade into oblivion. At the very least, I definitely won't shut up about my love anytime soon! This season I am also watching Sanrio Danshi (which deserves its own discussion) and Ryuuou no Shigoto so far, and many others on my plan to watch list -- rather rare for me -- but I will enjoy every second to its fullest.
I don't formally rate or review anime, but let's pretend I do... six episodes in, Slow Start gets an A+ 10/10 from me (๑>◡<๑)♡
